The Economist Intelligence Unit issued a report on November 10, stating that as of the end of October, more than 7 billion doses of vaccines had been vaccinated globally. Driven by China’s vaccines, the vaccination rates in Chile and Cambodia have reached 79% and 77%, which are higher than those in developed countries such as the United States and Europe. .
In response to this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular press conference on November 12 that China has so far provided more than 1.7 billion doses of vaccines to more than 110 countries and international organizations in the world, and will strive to provide 2 billion doses to foreign countries throughout 2021. .
China has supplied more than 70 million doses of vaccine to the "New Crown Vaccine Implementation Plan" and donated US$100 million. It has also initiated the "Belt and Road" vaccine partnership initiative with more than 30 countries, and carried out joint production of vaccines with 19 developing countries.
At present, China has become the country that provides the largest number of new crown vaccines in the world, and most of the vaccines obtained by developing countries so far come from China.
In the next step, China will continue to uphold the concept of a community of human health and provide more vaccines to developing countries through various means, including free assistance, so as to make greater China's contribution to achieving equitable access to vaccines and an early and complete victory over the epidemic.
