Military aid pledges amounting to 1.5 billion euros to Ukraine

Donors at an international conference in Copenhagen pledged more than 1.5 billion euros ($1.54 billion) to support Ukraine.

This amount was revealed by the Danish Defense Minister Morten Podeskov at the conclusion of the conference, noting that this amount may rise.

He added that the amount is intended for use this year and next.

Speaking about the conference, which focused on weapons, training and support for demining, the defense minister said that Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic had agreed to expand production of artillery systems, ammunition and other equipment.

In a joint statement, the countries pledged continued and sustainable military support to Ukraine and agreed to hold a virtual meeting in September.

Twenty-six countries sent delegates to the Copenhagen conference, which was held to complete cooperation within the framework of the Contact Group for Ukraine, which coordinates arms shipments to the Ukrainian armed forces.
