Mercedes continues to dominate - Hamilton fastest in the qualifiers

Bottas, Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton, Bottas and now Hamilton.

Mercedes has dominated the season and taken care of pole position in every race - and the Spanish Grand Prix was no exception.

Lewis Hamilton was five hundredths faster than his teammate but fought the heat.

- Physically it is tough and the track is so fast. We struggle with the tire temperature and even though we ride very slowly on the turnaround, it is difficult to keep the temperature down, he says in Viasat's broadcast.

The summer heat has posed problems for the teams in recent competitions. Red Bull, led by Max Verstappen, has managed to handle their tires well in the heat. It has been all the more difficult for Mercedes.

- I was here until ten last night with the team to look at what we can improve, because Red Bull are so fast during the race, Hamilton says.

Verstappen, who won the last race, starts as number three tomorrow.

Sergio Pérez makes a comeback after being ill in covid-19. The Mexican, who missed both races at Silverstone, made a strong qualifier. He was eight tenths behind Hamilton and starts as car number four, just ahead of his teammate Lance Stroll.
