22 October 2020The Part-Dieu train station in Lyon was evacuated in the early afternoon for a woman who threatened to explode and showed a suspicious casing.
The woman, who yelled 'Allah Akbar', wore the burqa and kept shouting "I'll blow you up", was stopped by the anti-terrorism departments.
No explosives were found but checks with bomb squads and dog teams are still underway.
Just today security sources in Paris had warned that due to the climate of tension after the beheading of the teacher who had shown the caricatures of Muhammad in the classroom, "for some days in France there has been maximum alert for possible attacks".
In particular, it is feared that "French airports and institutions" may be targeted by terrorists.
If attacks with "military-style commandos" as in 2015 seem difficult to re-propose today, France fears an escalation after the government's iron fist against Islamist circles, mosques and associations suspected of favoring fundamentalists.
Investigations into the beheaded professor
The killer of Samuel Paty, the history professor beheaded last Friday in the Paris suburb, had been in contact with a "Russian-speaking jihadist in Syria": this is what sources close to the dossier say.
According to the newspaper Le Parisien, this individual was located thanks to his Internet Protocol address (IP address).
It would be based in Idleb, the last jihadist rebel bastion in Syria.
Samuel Paty, a 47-year-old teacher in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, in the banlieue of Paris, was beheaded last Friday by Abdoullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old refugee of Chechen origin, for showing the caricatures of Muhammad during a lesson on freedom of 'expression.
