Schwerin (dpa) - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, all age groups can now be vaccinated with the Astrazeneca vaccine, regardless of their prioritization.

For people under 60 years of age, however, detailed advice from the vaccination doctor is necessary before the injection, as announced by the Ministry of Health in Schwerin.

This means that Astrazeneca can be administered in the vaccination centers, by mobile teams or in the doctor's offices, regardless of age or the sequence of vaccinations.

"This way, general practitioners also have the opportunity to make the vaccine available to a wider range of patients," said Minister Harry Glawe (CDU), according to a statement.

“The release is an offer that those who have little or no reservations about the vaccine can use the opportunity to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The aim is to ensure that no vaccine is left lying around and that we continue to vaccinate the population, ”Glawe emphasized.

This week, Saxony had lifted the vaccine prioritization for the Astrazeneca vaccine and made it accessible to people under 60 years of age.
