The Japan Tourism Agency has announced that it will extend the implementation period until the end of next month for the "Prefectural Citizens' Discount," a measure to stimulate tourism demand that allows discounts on travel prices.

The "Prefectural Discount", which allows you to receive coupons that can be used to discount travel prices and purchase souvenirs, has expanded the target area since April, and in addition to traveling within the prefecture where you live or in neighboring prefectures, you can also travel nationwide. After dividing into 6 areas, we also received support for travel within the area.

On the 20th, the Japan Tourism Agency announced that it will extend the implementation period from the 31st of this month to the accommodation on the 30th of next month.

Regarding the reason for deciding to extend it, the Japan Tourism Agency says, "We have decided that it is necessary to stimulate tourism demand even if the infection situation does not improve nationwide."

According to the Japan Tourism Agency, as of the 20th, 45 prefectures excluding Tokyo and Osaka have introduced the prefectural discount.

On the other hand, regarding "Go To Travel," which is currently suspended, the Japan Tourism Agency will carefully determine when to resume it after assessing the infection status.
