“In the second reading of the law on personnel training, we are talking about distance learning, we deleted two words that conceptually changed the law,” RIA Novosti quoted Matvienko as saying.

She turned to the State Secretary-Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education Andrei Korneev, noting that this was his mistake.

Matvienko noted that the Federation Council will ask the State Duma to make technical changes.

Earlier, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov announced that there were no plans to completely transfer universities to distance learning due to the situation with the coronavirus.
