For the second day in a row, twenty Murad Al-Abadi packs his bag and heads towards the Jordanian-Palestinian border, pushing him to cross the borders and participate with the Palestinians in their defense of the city of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the protection of families threatened with expulsion from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

Al-Abadi says that, on Friday, he managed to reach an area very close to the border with occupied Palestine, accompanied by a group of angry youths, but the Jordanian army forces present on the border prevented them from advancing further.

"We came to defend Palestine, and to deliver a message to the Zionist enemy that in Jordan there are men who love to die in defense of Al-Aqsa and the holy sites, and to demand our government to expel the Zionist ambassador from Amman and close the occupation embassy," Al-Abadi told Al-Jazeera Net.

The demonstrations, in which thousands of people who marched towards the western borders with Palestine, from various regions of Jordan, have been taking part since Friday - on the impact of what is happening in Palestine and on the 73rd anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba - in the Jordan Valley bordering Palestine.

The march towards the borders comes as a culmination of angry mass events that began in the early days of the blessed month of Ramadan due to the continuous Israeli violations of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and their pace increased with the war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip.

73 years since the Nakba

Participants and observers draw attention to the importance of the demonstrations this year, which coincides with the 73rd anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, rather than coming in light of the clashes that all areas of historical Palestine are experiencing on the one hand, so that the demonstrations on the borders with Palestine confirm the right of return that millions of refugees adhere to outside Palestine, Millions of them live in Jordan.

The popular activities in Jordan varied between the daily sit-in near the Israeli embassy in Amman, in addition to the daily marches and sit-ins in the governorates and cities of the Kingdom and Palestinian refugee camps.

Significant movements emerged through sit-ins, initiatives and statements by Jordanian clans in all governorates of the Kingdom, in addition to evening youth gatherings on the mountains overlooking Palestine in the cities of Salt, Madaba, Karak, Tafila and Ajloun, to photograph the resistance missiles heading towards the occupation areas.

These activities and movements demand the abolition of the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty, the cessation of natural gas imports from Israel, the severing of diplomatic and commercial relations with the Israeli occupation, the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Amman, and the return of the Jordanian ambassador from Tel Aviv.

What is striking about these sit-ins is that the majority of the participants in it are from the young generation, and that they cross the party frameworks and the traditional opposition, as they are organized and led by young activists on social media, away from the accounts of politicians and partisans.

An advanced popular position

In the opinion of political activist Ahmed Hassan Al-Zoubi, "the active youth element in the activities went beyond speeches, party statements and official positions. They were motivated in their popular gift by their love for Palestine and their anger at what is happening there, and these young people were born after the peace agreements, whether the Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement in Oslo, or the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty. In Wadi Araba, they do not recognize it, and they enjoy greater awareness and a wider area of movement after they reached the front lines on the border area yesterday. "

Al-Zoubi added to Al-Jazeera Net, "There is a big discrepancy between the popular and official stance regarding recent events. The angry public stance for more than a week is very advanced to the official position that is satisfied with traditional data, without real steps on the ground."

He added, "We are the custodians of Jerusalem and the holy sites, and it is our duty to protect them, and if we do not act now, when will we act? We have political and economic pressure papers on the Zionist occupation, when will we use them?"

Official position

Politically, the Jordanian government announced that it was coordinating with Arab and regional countries to stop the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip for days, and the Jordanian King Abdullah II warned against "leaving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict without a comprehensive and just solution that ends the occupation and fulfills all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people." Press statements yesterday that "the violence that results from the grave violations committed by Israel against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Jerusalemites, threatens stability and security, feeds extremism and promotes hate speech."

As for the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, during his speech at the meeting of Arab foreign ministers, he said, "Jordan will take, as it has always done, all necessary steps to support brothers, protect sanctities and protect the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the region's right to a just and comprehensive peace, and it will not achieve Israel's aggression and its violation of the law." The international community only fueled the conflict, expanded it, and pushed it towards an explosion, and Israel will not enjoy security if the Palestinians do not enjoy it. "

As for the Jordanian parliament, it called on his country's government, through a parliamentary memorandum signed by 105 out of 130 deputies, to "expel the Israeli ambassador from Amman, close the embassy, return our ambassador from Tel Aviv, review the terms of the Wadi Araba agreement, and put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop violations against Jerusalem." .

New militant tools

In turn, the political activist in the Baqaa camp - the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan - Khaled Arar told Al-Jazeera Net that "the Palestinian camps, as the main witness to the Palestinian catastrophe in 1948 and the displacement of their people, are always interacting with any events taking place in Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Gaza and the Palestinian interior."

He continued, "The state of Jordanian interaction in the various governorates and villages is due to the fact that the Palestinian issue is the issue of Arabs and Muslims, and it is expressed by the authentic Jordanian son of the cities of Maan, Irbid and Karak, as expressed by the Palestinian camps."

Arar added, "Young people from 16 to 24 years old were able to lead the angry street and express their love and patriotism spontaneously, away from the accounts of partisans and politicians, and were creative in creating new struggle tools, using social media."

Thousands of angry youths staged a sit-in at the border area with Palestine for two days, and the accompanying rush of young people remarkably towards trying to breach the borders during a sit-in on Friday and the arrival of a number of them to the seam zones - according to experts and observers - that it will establish a new phase of the popular movement that is no longer It is satisfied with symbolic moves, but has become a stage for direct engagement with the occupation, which expands every day its violations and wars against the Palestinian people.
