His funeral took place on Wednesday.
A two-month-old girl has died in Maine-et-Loire in recent days from shaken baby syndrome, reports the
Ouest-France
newspaper .
His father, a 33-year-old man, is believed to be behind the fatal acts.
He was indicted for violence resulting in the death without intention of giving it to a minor of 15 years by ascendant and was placed in pre-trial detention.
According to the
Courrier de l'Ouest
, the facts took place last week at the family home, in Saint-Philbert-du-Peuple in Saumurois.
The 21-year-old victim's mother told investigators that she was away from home and left the child, who had reflux problems, with his dad.
The latter would have admitted to having shaken him “because he was drinking badly”.
His companion, who tried to help him on his return, was left free and placed under the status of assisted witness.
