It was just before nine o'clock on Tuesday morning that the rescue service was alerted to a single accident at the intersection between county roads 775 and 778 east of Tystberga.
The driver, a man in his 75s, was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
At 12:20, the police announced that the man had died.
Relatives are notified.
