The Government of Madrid will demand this afternoon from the Government, at the meeting of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, more scientific criteria and legal certainty to confine the ten Madrid municipalities with the highest incidence of Covid-19, including Madrid, as contemplated in the draft that the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, will present to the autonomous communities.

The Ministry of Health also wants the healthcare capacity to be taken into account, which in the case of Madrid is very high, to carry out these restrictions.

The draft of the Health document to proceed with the restriction of mobility in cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants establishes that there must be an accumulated contagion rate in the last 14 days of more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, in addition to a positivity rate greater than 10% in PCR tests and a saturation in ICUs greater than 35% in the region in which they are located.

According to these criteria, up to ten Madrid cities would experience restrictions.

In addition to the capital, the towns that will be affected by the restrictions are Fuenlabrada, Parla, Alcobendas, Torrejón de Ardoz, Getafe, Alcorcón, Leganés, Móstoles and Alcalá de Henares.
