Madi sends a message to the Algerian public: Do not hurt me in Mahrez

Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi sent a message to the fans of his country with fairness to his star and "Green" captain Riyad Mahrez, and to stay away from everything that harms him in this player.

In statements published by the Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk, he said: I hope the negative criticism against Mahrez will stop.

The player rendered great services to the national team, and the Algerian public should not forget that.

He added, "The Manchester City winger's inability to repeat the positive performances in the African Nations Championship in Cameroon is a matter that will be addressed with the person concerned, just as the father corrects his son's mistakes."

The first technical official for the Algerian national team continued, saying: Errors and lapses are corrected at home, and not by defamation outside the stronghold of (Desert Warriors).

Mahrez missed a penalty kick in the 60th minute of facing Ivory Coast, in the first kick he missed in 39 months.

Mahrez played matches in the African Nations Cup in Cameroon, but he could not show the impressive international level that the Algerian fans are accustomed to.
