French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beirut today, Thursday, two days after the outbreak of the Beirut port explosion, which killed 137 people and wounded 5,000, and Macron was received at the airport by his Lebanese counterpart, Michel Aoun.

Concurrent with his arrival, the president tweeted, announcing his affirmation of French solidarity with the Lebanese wound, and wrote in Arabic: "Lebanon is not alone."

Macron said in his first statement after his arrival to Lebanon, that the French government will ensure that the Lebanese people benefit from the aid.

He added that he would urge to carry out the necessary reforms in Lebanon, where reform cannot be achieved with corruption in Lebanon.
