Severe thunderstorms hit the Haute-Garonne department around 4:30 p.m. this Thursday afternoon.

Placed in orange vigilance since the day before by the services of Météo-France, the department has experienced an intense half hour of rains and gusts of wind, with hail in places.

A powerful thunderstorm line crossed the rapidly advancing Pyrenees north.

It is accompanied by marked rains, intense lightning, sometimes hail.

The meteorological services recorded violent winds reaching 105 km / h at the Toulouse-Lasbordes aerodrome, in the town of Balma, and up to 112 km / h at Saint-Félix-Lauragais, in the south of the department.

The Haute-Garonne departmental fire and rescue service has received many calls to report torn trees, sometimes lying on the road, electric wires and telephone on the ground, but also sometimes torn roofs.

According to firefighters, the sectors most affected are those of Ramonville-Saint-Agne, Villefranche-de-Lauragais and that of Verfeil.
