[Explanation] The eucalyptus trees all over Guangxi bring good income to farmers, but with the continuous increase in the output value of the snail powder industry, bamboo shoots, the raw material of snail powder, are also in short supply.
Recently, it is the planting season of hemp bamboo. In Liunan District, Liuzhou City, farmers began to cut down eucalyptus trees to plant hemp bamboo, and catch the rapid development of snail powder.
[Explanation] In 2019, the output value of bagged snail powder in Liuzhou exceeded 6 billion yuan (RMB, the same below).
In 2021, Liuzhou's bagged snail powder sales revenue will reach 15.197 billion yuan, which will more than double in two years. The sales of snail powder raw materials such as bamboo shoots, beans and fungus are in short supply.
[Explanation] Guangxi has issued documents to gradually reduce the planting scale of artificial pure forests such as eucalyptus and pine, and vigorously create native tree species, precious tree species, famous economic forests and mixed forests.
The Liuzhou Municipal Government has issued a policy that farmers who newly plant hemp bamboo can receive a subsidy of 900 yuan per mu, encouraging farmers to participate in the production of snail powder raw materials.

The five-year income of eucalyptus trees is 5,000 to 4,000 yuan per mu. We have no income in the first and second years of planting bamboo. In the third year, we have about 2,000 to 3,000 catties, and the income is about 1.5 yuan per catty and 4,000 yuan per mu.
After the third year, we have an annual income of 7,000 to 8,000 yuan.
[Explanation] In the process of planting bamboo shoots, it also drives the labor force in the village to work.
Among the villagers who came to work, there are more than 20 poverty-stricken households, with a daily salary of 120 to 150 yuan.
Next to Wei Jianheng's bamboo forest is a modern pig breeding base, which provides green fertilizer for local bamboo shoots and forms a circular economy.

Pig farming can provide organic fertilizer for planting bamboo, which can reduce the cost of planting bamboo in the next step.
[Explanation] At present, there is no worry about the sales of bamboo shoots. The output of bamboo shoots in Liuzhou can only meet about half of the demand for bagged snail powder.

After the development of the snail powder development chain in Liunan District of Liuzhou City, our current bamboo supply is in short supply.
According to the work arrangement of the district committee and the district government, we also vigorously develop the bamboo planting industry.
To do a good job in this industry is to provide better materials for snail powder.
[Explanation] The eucalyptus planted bamboo in Liushan Town is a microcosm of Liunan District and even Liuzhou City.
As the location of the snail powder town, Liunan District has issued a special work plan around the construction of the snail powder raw material base, and vigorously promoted the work of returning from eucalyptus to bamboo.
At present, 30,000 mu of bamboo shoots have been planted in the whole area. In 2022, it is planned to add 10,000 mu of bamboo shoots. By 2025, the area of new bamboo shoots will exceed 50,000 mu, and the annual output of bamboo shoots will reach 100,000 tons. The billion snail powder industry provides a strong guarantee of raw materials.
