Premier Li Keqiang attended the 2nd Global Green Goal Partners 2030 Summit in the form of a video on May 30 and delivered a speech.

Li Keqiang said that at present, the new crown pneumonia epidemic is still raging on a global scale, the world economy is unstable and uncertain, and the global green and sustainable development is facing severe challenges.

In the face of difficulties and impacts, the international community should stand by and help each other in the same boat, and strive to achieve development and green transformation in parallel, promote each other, and promote quality and upgrading.

Li Keqiang pointed out that, as the world’s largest developing country, China will achieve low-carbon and green development in the middle of this century to modernize and allow the Chinese people to live a happy life. This has no precedent in human history and requires arduous efforts. Can be achieved.

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China will strive to achieve carbon peaks by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060.

China will establish and improve a green and low-carbon circular development economic system to promote a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development; focus on reducing carbon as a key strategic direction, and promote synergy in reducing pollution and carbon.

China will host the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in October this year, and is willing to work with the international community to promote global biodiversity governance to a new level.

  Li Keqiang made three suggestions:

The first is to unite and cooperate to win the global fight against the epidemic.

If the epidemic does not end in a day, it will be difficult for all countries to develop with peace of mind.

Faced with the common enemy of the virus, no country can stand alone.

Unity and cooperation is the "right way" to defeat the epidemic.

We must strengthen international cooperation in the fight against the epidemic and further improve the global health governance system.

At the same time, strengthen policy coordination and ensure the security and stability of the global industrial chain supply chain through flexible forms such as "fast channel" and "green channel".

The second is to change our thinking and promote a green and low-carbon transition.

The post-epidemic recovery of various countries must not return to the old path of high-pollution and high-emission development. They must firmly pursue a win-win situation between economic development and ecological protection, and resolutely curb the impulse of extensive growth.

Grasp new opportunities such as new business formats spawned by the epidemic, accelerating digital transformation, and stimulating new development momentum to promote high-quality development.

The third is to take care of the special difficulties of developing countries.

The international community must adhere to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, attach great importance to the concerns and demands of developing countries, and increase technical, financial, and capacity support to help them achieve a green and low-carbon transition.

It is necessary to maintain the multilateral trading rules system with the World Trade Organization as the core, be alert to new green trade barriers, and oppose unilateralism and trade protectionism.

Li Keqiang emphasized that green determines the quality of future development.

China is willing to work with all parties to promote green recovery and create a better future for mankind.

The 2nd Global Green Goal Partners 2030 Summit was hosted by South Korea and held in video format.

Leaders of more than 60 countries and international organizations attended.
