RB Leipzig, the new team of national football striker Hwang Hee-chan, beat Spain's prestigious Atletico Madrid to reach the semifinals of the European Football Federation Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

Leipzig defeated Atletico Madrid 2-1 with Tyler Adams' final goal in the 43rd minute in the Champions League quarter-final in Lisbon, Portugal on the 14th.

Founded in 2009, Leipzig is the first ever to reach the semifinal stage and compete for the finals against Paris Saint-Germain.

Starting from the 2009-2010 season in the German 5th Division, Leipzig continued to grow on the back of the strong funding and aggressive investment of its parent sports drink company Red Bull, establishing itself as an emerging powerhouse in the German Bundesliga.

After being promoted to the first division in the 2016-2017 season, it has placed third in the last two consecutive seasons.

Leipzig, who was born in 1987 under the leadership of coach Julian Nagelsmann, made a blast and even reached the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.

In the 5th minute of the second half, Dani Olmo's opening goal led Leipzig to equalize the goal for Juan Felix in the 26th minute of the second half.

US-born Tyler Adams, who was substituted, received a pass from Angelino at the end of the match, fired a mid-range shot, was deflected, and shook Atletico Madrid's net.

Meanwhile, Hwang Hee-chan, who joined Leipzig after the transfer player registration period, accompanied the squad on this day, but was unable to play in the game.
