The polemicist, who obtained 7% of the votes in the presidential election, is now "very tempted" by a candidacy for the June legislative elections, and will make his decision in "a few days", he told BFMTV on Monday. .

"I'm very tempted," he said at first.

But "I still hesitate for a simple reason: Will I be able, by presenting myself, to help all my comrades who are on the bridge?", Continued the founder of the Reconquest party.

"We have to lead the national campaign, to help each other. It's not easy", he insisted again, specifying that his decision, "imminent", was "a story of a few days ", before the end of the week.

Regarding his starting point, Éric Zemmour said he "looked at the constituencies" in which he "scored more than 20%" in the first round of the presidential election, referring to "Var", or "Paris".

No ongoing negotiations with the National Rally 

In view of the legislative elections of June 12 and 19, for which he intends to present "577 candidates", the polemicist regretted that no negotiations were underway with Marine Le Pen who, according to him, "prefers to kill Reconquest rather than become a strength to 100-150 elected officials" at the Palais Bourbon.

"If she really wants to resist the Assembly (…) she must agree to make an agreement", pleaded Éric Zemmour, while admitting to having had no contact with the leader of the National Rally since the second presidential tower.

But "contact has never been broken", he assured, because "there are people who talk to each other", within the RN and Reconquest.

He also returned to his first presidential candidacy, marked by a strong breakthrough in the polls, to the point of considering climbing to the second round, before failing at 7%.

According to him, his position vis-à-vis Ukraine has failed him

"It's my failure, my disappointment," he first agreed, before citing Russia's invasion of Ukraine as the main reason for his defeat.

"The presidential election, you may think that it proves me wrong. I tell you that it proves me right", launched Zemmour, arguing that his theses, like that of the "great substitute", remain "the subject major".
