Lebanon.. A sit-in in front of Mikati's house to protest the additional taxes

A number of protesters staged a sit-in today, Friday, in front of the house of Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in the port in the north of the country, in rejection of the difficult living conditions and the additional taxes included in the 2022 budget that "burden people."

The protesters chanted slogans calling for Mikati to "bear the people's pain and search for solutions to the financial crisis away from taxes that affect them and raise the cost of communications, water and electricity."

Yesterday, Thursday, the Lebanese Cabinet approved the draft budget law and sent it to Parliament.

After the session ended, Mikati announced raising the costs of communications, water and electricity.
