The ministry also said that "Lavrov drew the interlocutor's attention to a wide resonance in Russian society in connection with cases of manifestation of domestic nationalism against representatives of the Russian-speaking population in Kyrgyzstan."

According to the Foreign Ministry, "the minister called on the authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic to respond as quickly as possible to such incidents in order to avoid infringement of the rights and dignity of ... compatriots."

"Kazakbayev assured that the country's leadership will firmly oppose any manifestations of nationalism and continue the course towards strengthening the role of the Russian language in the interests of fully ensuring the rights of the Russian-speaking population," the message says.
