Lavrov: Western arms stocks of Ukraine are legitimate targets

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described the arms stockpiles delivered from Western countries to Ukraine as legitimate targets in the armed conflict between Moscow and Kiev.

"Of course, these weapons will be a legitimate target of the Russian forces," Lavrov said in an interview on Russian television, which the Foreign Ministry shared on its Telegram channel yesterday evening.

Arms depots, including those in western Ukraine, have become such targets more than once.”

"How could it be otherwise?" Lavrov added.

"If NATO de facto goes to war with Russia through a proxy and arms that proxy, then you are doing in the war what you have to do in the war," he added.

Recently, several NATO countries said that they would directly supply heavy weapons to Ukraine.

The United States and Germany have so far avoided this.
