Statistics released by Reuters news agency showed that the number of deaths of Corona virus emerging in Latin America exceeded that of North America for the first time since the pandemic started.

According to official data, by Monday, Latin America had recorded 144,680 deaths so far, compared to 143847 in North America, which includes Canada and the United States.

The first confirmed cases of the disease were recorded in the Americas by a difference of days in late February, first appearing in Canada, then the United States and Mexico.

Initially, the United States and Canada experienced an acceleration in the number of cases.

But Latin America has faced great difficulties in containing the outbreak once it has moved out of the upscale neighborhoods where the injuries were usually those who traveled abroad.

The prevalence of poverty and informal employment and the deterioration of health care conditions, especially in remote areas, contributed to the spread of the disease on a larger scale.
