On October 30th, the latest research results of the Denisovans, jointly completed by the research teams of Lanzhou University, the Institute of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, and Chinese and foreign counterparts, won the internationally renowned academic journal Science Published online.

The latest research on the Denisovans at the Baishiya cave site in the northeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has made significant progress. The site has preserved a wealth of ancient human activities in the Middle Pleistocene and Late Pleistocene, and successfully obtained the first one outside Denisowa Cave. The mitochondrial gene sequence of Denisovans, and ancient DNA studies revealed that Denisovans lived on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for a long time in the late Pleistocene.
