Differences between laser and inkjet printers

Laser and inkjet printers are two types of printers and one is not necessarily better than the other, but their differences can steer them towards certain uses over others.

An inkjet printer works with liquid ink cartridges, often primary colors (cyan, magenta, yellow) and black.

Sometimes the colors are combined in a single cartridge, sometimes they are separated.

Inkjet printing is often slower and more expensive than laser printing, as cartridges wear out faster than toners.

On the other hand, they are more versatile because an inkjet printer can also print color photos on specific paper.

Conversely, a laser printer will be more efficient for monochrome documents,

How to connect a printer to your computer?

There are several ways to connect a printer to a computer.

The simplest and most universal, since all printers offer it, is to use a USB cable.

Generally, printers work with a USB-A to USB-B cable, an easily identifiable connector.

The wired connection is reliable, but it is obviously limited in terms of mobility: it requires having a computer nearby, but this is less and less the case during office time, which moves to all rooms thanks to laptops and smartphones.

This is why most current printers also offer compatibility with wireless printing, allowing you to print anywhere in the house or office, from your ultrabook, tablet or smartphone, existing protocols for Android and iOS.
