From today (18th), while the corona vaccine for 16-17 year olds started, it was confirmed that some consigned medical institutions were wrongly vaccinated with Moderna vaccine.



The Korean Medical Association sent an emergency message to each medical institution this afternoon, saying, "Today, some institutions have confirmed the vaccination of Moderna aged 16-17 years."



In Korea, Pfizer vaccine is available for those over 12 years of age, but Moderna vaccine is licensed for those over 18 years of age.



The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said that it had received reports of teenage moderna cases of incorrect vaccinations from local governments.



Jung Eun-kyung, director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said, "In Korea, children under the age of 17 are not allowed to receive the vaccine, so if they were vaccinated, they would be wrongly vaccinated."



Commissioner Jeong said, "It seems that there was confusion about the type of vaccine at the site because it was the first day of vaccination."
