Klopp: The 7-0 victory over Crystal Palace will not be repeated

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp does not expect his team to repeat last season's great victory at Crystal Palace when they crushed the London club 7-0, saying today that this great victory was an "exceptional event".

Klopp said Palace had found stability under coach Patrick Vieira and expected to battle a tough side 11th in the Premier League standings.

"This win (7-0) happens once. When such results happen, it is an exceptional event and it will not usually be repeated," Klopp told reporters before Sunday's match. "Crystal Palace has changed and evolved," Klopp told reporters.

The team appears stable now.

They're a really good team in the Premier League and they're getting some bad results."

Despite the absence of prominent scorers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for their participation in the African Nations Cup, Liverpool will play the match with great confidence after reaching the League Cup final after winning 2-0 at Arsenal yesterday.

The German coach added, "The players shined last night. We feel good now, but I have to create a different atmosphere against Crystal Palace because they do not give gifts."

Klopp said midfielder Harvey Elliott could return to action after the international break after missing nearly five months due to ankle surgery.

He added that midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to training and may join the squad for Sunday's match, after recovering from an ankle injury that kept him from facing his former team Arsenal during yesterday's League Cup semi-final win.
