“The most negative scenario for us is if Nord Stream 2 is certified this year,” Interfax quotes Makogon.

According to him, in this case, this decision "will be immediately appealed by the European Commission, the Polish government, the Ukrainian government."

The head of the Ukrainian gas transportation system also stressed that Kiev has "very great chances" to fight against the launch of the gas pipeline and to preserve gas transit.

Earlier, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Yuriy Kamelchuk, named a scenario for saving the country's gas transportation system (GTS) after the launch of Nord Stream 2.

Press Secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov commented on the situation with the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine.
