Food maker Kewpie has announced that it will raise prices for mayonnaise and sauces in response to soaring raw material prices.

This is the third mayonnaise price increase since last year.

According to the announcement, Kewpie will raise the price of 93 household products such as mayonnaise, mustard, and tartar sauce from the shipment on October 1st.



The price increases are all reference retail prices, such as


▽ mayonnaise is about 3% to 11%,


▽ mustard is about 17% to 20%,


▽ tartar sauce is about 2% to 6%, etc. Mayonnaise with 450 grams, which is a product, will be 475 yen from the current 436 yen including tax.



Also, for commercial use, we will raise the price of 157 products such as mayonnaise by up to 15% from the shipment on October 1st.



Regarding the reason, the company says that the price of raw materials such as cooking oil is rising further, and the price of mayonnaise will be raised for the third time since last year.

Nippon-Ham also announced price increases

On the other hand, Nippon-Ham, a major food manufacturer, announced that it will raise prices and reduce the content of some products such as ham and sausage from the shipment on October 1 due to soaring raw material prices. However, the prices of familiar foods continue to rise.
