According to trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, Japan's exports last month and May increased by 49.6% over the same month last year, rising for the third straight month.

The number increased significantly, partly due to the reaction to the fact that last year was lower than usual due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

On the other hand, the trade deficit of 1871 billion yen last month after deducting imports from exports due to the significant increase in import value was the first trade deficit in four months.
