According to a Guinness World Records statement, the twin sisters were born in 1913 in Shodoshima, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. They are the eldest and second sisters of eleven siblings.
On September 1, 2021, the twins have been 107 years and 300 days old, breaking the longevity record of 107 years and 175 days set by the Japanese sisters Narita and Kanie.
The sisters, who maintained new records, now live in different nursing homes.
