When the controversy over preferential treatment of rapper Noel (real name Jang Yong-jun) was raised in the detention center's private living room, his father, Jang Je-won, a member of the People's Power, said, "I clearly state that I have never intervened in any way."

On the 2nd, Rep. Jang posted a long post on his social media account, saying, "Some media reported that my son Yong-jun was being held in a solitary confinement in a detention center as if he was receiving special treatment."

He said, "I feel sympathy for trying to use the suffering of someone else's family to inflict political harm at a sensitive time. warned

On this day, a media reported that Noel, who was arrested in October of last year, has been detained in a single living room at the Seoul Detention Center for about five months so far, claiming that there is no preferential treatment.

Regarding this, Rep. Jang said, "I make it clear that I have not intervened in any way since my son's problem occurred." "I am well aware of how sensitive this issue is in a situation where he is called Jang Je-won's son, not Noel. But, even as a father, I would like to state that I have never commented or intervened in any matters such as incidents, investigations, trials, and detention in the detention center regarding my son's problem."

Rep. Jang continued, "After the report went out, I found out with the lawyer, and I heard that his son Yong-jun wanted to live alone, but the detention center decided to live alone because of management issues."

It is absurd to say that it is a privilege to have a son who has been living in solitary confinement for over five months.

I'm in tears," she said with regret.

"We will follow up to the end and reveal the truth in front of the people and hold strict legal responsibility for any attempts to harm the media under the name of reporting or reporting maliciously with political intentions by taking advantage of other people's misfortunes." .

In September last year, Noel was driving a Mercedes-Benz car without a license near Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and had an accident with another car. He is charged with obstructing the execution of official duties, including assault.

At the decision trial held on the 25th of last month, the prosecution requested a three-year prison sentence for Noel, saying, "I committed a recidivism even during the probation period."

Previously, Noel was indicted without detention in September 2019 on charges of drunk driving and changing drivers, and was then sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison in the first trial, 2 years of probation, and an order to attend 40 hours of law-abiding driving lessons.
