ISS orbital altitude correction scheduled for February 6

According to RIA Novosti, the Progress cargo ship will raise the station above the Earth by 400 m.

The state corporation explained that the correction must be carried out in order to form ballistic conditions before the launch of the Soyuz MS-21 manned spacecraft into orbit on March 18 and the landing of the Soyuz MS-19 on March 30.

Earlier it became known that the calculations of the American aerospace agency NASA provide for the removal of the ISS from orbit in 2031.

Later, the head of the ballistics department of RSC Energia, Rafail Murtazin, said that American specialists had asked to lower the ISS orbit by several kilometers on an ongoing basis.
