22 September 2020The Guardia di Finanza is proceeding with the acquisition of documents in the offices of the University for Foreigners of Perugia in relation to alleged irregularities in the Italian language certification test, carried out last September 17, by the Uruguayan footballer Luis Alberto Suárez Diaz, necessary to obtain Italian citizenship.

The investigations, coordinated by the Perugia prosecutor's office and conducted by the economic and financial police unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Perugia, were launched in February 2020 for different facts and matured in the context of the university for foreigners.       



"From the investigative activities - underlines a note from the power of attorney signed by Raffaele Cantone - it emerged that the topics covered by the exam were previously agreed with the candidate and that the relative score was attributed even before the performance of the same, despite being An elementary knowledge of the Italian language was found during the distance lessons held by university teachers ".
