Irina Antonova, President of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, died at 98

“Irina Aleksandrovna has passed away,” the press service said.

Antonova graduated from Moscow State University in 1945, in the same year she went to work at the State Museum of Fine Arts.

Her area of ​​research was the art of Renaissance Italy.

In 1961, Antonova became the director of the museum.

In 2013, she left the post of director of the museum and became its president.

Antonova is a full holder of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland (1997 - III degree, 2002 - II degree, 2007 - I degree, 2012 - IV degree), winner of a number of other Russian and international awards.
