Iraqi "Tourism" calls for stopping dealing with Egyptian companies

The Iraqi Tourism Authority called for stopping the country's tourism companies from dealing with Egyptian companies, explaining that this call came against the background of complaints it received from Iraqi tourists.

This came in a statement issued by the Iraqi Tourism Authority, today, Tuesday, according to the official Iraqi News Agency.

The authority said it "instructed to stop Iraqi tourism companies' dealings with Egyptian tourism companies."

The authority attributed its decision to "the large number of complaints submitted by Iraqi citizens against Egyptian companies due to their exposure to exploitation by some of them," as it described it.

A document signed by the head of the Tourism Authority, Dhafer Mahdi Abdullah, mentioned the names of a group of specific Egyptian companies.

She stressed that the aim of the decision is to "reduce the exploitation of Iraqi tourists" by these companies "until a solution is found to the phenomenon of exploitation of Iraqi tourists," as she put it.
