“Investigators, as part of the investigation of the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists, will establish the circumstances of the attempt on the life of the mayor of the city of Energodar, Zaporozhye region,” the statement on the website of the Investigative Committee says.
According to local law enforcement agencies, Shevchik received repeated threats.
Earlier it became known that Shevchik and two of his guards were wounded as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device planted in the entrance of the mayor's house.
