The President of the European Commission announced Thursday that Europe intends to mobilize more than 150 billion euros of investment in Africa in the coming years.

This announcement is part of the Global Gateway initiative, which aims to mobilize public and private funds for infrastructure projects.

Global Gateway is seen as a response to the New Silk Roads traced by China, which is rapidly expanding its economic and political presence on the African continent.
