Instagram cut off thousands of users... and "meta" commented

Yesterday, Meta Platforms said that it is working to restore the Instagram service after thousands of users reported that the photo-sharing platform could not be accessed.

More than 6,600 users reported problems with Instagram on the website Down-detector.com, which monitors outages and collects reports and data from a variety of sources, including users reporting crashes.

The malfunction may have affected a larger number of users.

According to the website, 84 percent of the reported issues were with accessing the Instagram mobile app.

"We are aware that some people are having problems accessing Instagram," Mita said in a statement.

"We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience," she added.
