October 22, 2020 The hires activated by private employers in the first seven months of 2020 were 2,919,000.

This is what INPS detects in the Observatory on precarious work, explaining that "compared to the same period in 2019, the contraction was very strong (-38%) due to the emergency linked to the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent restrictions (obligation closure of non-essential activities) as well as the more general fall in production and consumption ".

This contraction, the institute continues, "particularly negative in April (-83%), gradually eased up to July (-20%)".

The decline concerned all types of contracts, but was "particularly accentuated for hires with fixed-term employment contracts (intermittent, temporary, temporary)".



The transformations for a fixed period in the period January-July 2020 amounted to 302,000, also down compared to the same period in 2019 (-33%; -41% for the month of July);

regarding this decline, however, it should be remembered that, in 2019, the volume of transformations was exceptionally high also due to the impact of the regulatory changes due to the 'Dignity Decree ".



The confirmations of apprenticeship relationships reached the end of the training period overall, for the period January-July 2020 still growing (+10%). The terminations totaled 2,808,000, a sharp decrease compared to the same period of the previous year (-23%). This decrease was particularly marked for permanent contracts in March to July (-39%) due to the introduction on March 17 ( 'CuraItalia') and subsequent confirmation ( 'increment') the prohibition of dismissal for economic reasons.
