According to the authorities, at least four people died in an avalanche accident in the Indian part of the Himalayas.

According to the rescue workers, a 33-member expedition group from a mountaineering school was caught in an avalanche on Tuesday at an altitude of around 4880 meters in the northern state of Uttarakhand.

Eight climbers could be rescued, the others were stuck in a crevasse.

Local media put the death toll at ten.

Last week, the well-known US ski mountaineer Hilaree Nelson died in an accident on Manaslu in the Nepalese part of the Himalayas.

On the same day, a Nepalese mountaineer died in an avalanche on Manaslu.
