At least two people have died after a driver drove his SUV into the outside area of ​​a Washington restaurant.

Three other people were critically injured in the incident on Friday, US media reported, citing authorities.

Most of the victims were sitting on the restaurant's outdoor terrace at the time of the accident.

A total of eleven people were injured in the incident.

Eight of them were taken to hospitals: five in critical condition and three with minor injuries.

Two of the seriously injured died later.
