The reporter learned from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate on the 6th that the procuratorial organ punishes the crime of refusing to pay labor remuneration in accordance with the law and protects the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
From January to November 2021, procuratorial organs across the country accepted and prosecuted 2,813 cases of non-payment of labor remuneration crimes of 3,243 people, up 12.3% and 12% year-on-year respectively, and recovered about 168 million yuan in back wages through case handling.
During the same period, procuratorial organs across the country approved the arrest of 716 cases of refusal to pay labor remuneration according to law, and 1,256 cases of 1,382 people were prosecuted.
The procuratorial organs also actively implement the criminal justice policy of reducing arrests, prosecution and detention, and strive to achieve equal attention to rights protection and enterprise protection, focusing on assisting enterprises to establish long-term mechanisms through procuratorial recommendations and urging enterprises to operate in compliance.
