This was announced by the representative of the united corps of firefighters and rescuers of the country Lukasz Popp.

"A fire in one of the apartments on the 12th floor of a 14-storey panel building in the city of Bohumin killed six people, three of them children," Poppa quoted TASS as saying.

He said that "five more, who lived in the apartment above them on the 13th floor, could not leave their home and, fleeing the fire, jumped out of the windows."

“They crashed in the fall,” he added.

All the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

In January, eight people died and seven others were injured in a fire in a nursing home in the western Czech town of Vejprty.
