In detail, “Abu Dhabi Express” .. 64 “private” buses to transport passengers between the cities of the capital

The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport has announced that it has given the private sector an opportunity to provide and operate a rapid bus transport service under the name "Abu Dhabi Express", 


based on its role in regulating public transport operations in the emirate, and as part of its continuous endeavor to develop public transport services and diversify transportation options by public buses. In order to facilitate the movement of community members and enable them to reach their intended destinations with the utmost comfort and in the least possible time.


The center explained that the first phase of the "Abu Dhabi Express" service will be operated as of next Monday, by both Al Ghazal Transport and Emirates Taxi, as these operating companies purchased 64 buses to provide the new service.

This comes within the framework of the existing strategic partnership between the Integrated Transport Center and the private sector to develop public transport services and improve the quality of services available in this sector. This is part of the efforts made to establish an integrated and sustainable transport system that facilitates the movement of residents, visitors and tourists, supports the local business environment, and improves the quality of life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. 


  According to the center, "Abu Dhabi Express" services are distinguished as non-stop direct services, making its routes the fastest ways to move around, enabling bus users to reach their destinations quickly, comfortably and safely.


These services are distributed over several areas in Abu Dhabi, and come in two phases. The first phase includes the Musaffah Industrial Area and Mohammed bin Zayed City, while the second phase includes Khalifa City, Bani Yasu, Al Shahama District, Al Falah City and other areas as needed, and linking these cities directly to Abu Dhabi City through (4) Direct and quick operational services, in addition to (5) new operational services in different areas of Al Ain city, namely Al Hayer, Al Faqa, Sweihan, Al Shuwaib, Nahil, Abu Samra, Al Waqn and Al Qu`a.

The number of trips on the new fast tracks is 680 per week.


Abu Dhabi Express services include service number (E-01), which runs from ICAD city in the Musaffah region to Abu Dhabi city - the main bus station, and service number (E-02), which operates from Mussafah station to Abu Dhabi city - the main bus station. Service No. (E-03), which operates from Al Shabiya Bus Station in Mussafah to Abu Dhabi City - the main bus station, and service No. (E-04), which runs from Safeer Mall in Khalifa City to Abu Dhabi City - the main bus station.


 The Abu Dhabi Express service will start next Monday 


during weekdays, and from 5:00 am to 01:00 am on weekends and public holidays.

It operates in both directions with a frequency of every 10 minutes during peak hours, and a time frequency that does not exceed 25 minutes outside peak hours. 


The Abu Dhabi Express service contributes to eliminating the phenomenon of random transport, passenger smuggling and unorganized transport, and supports the center's endeavors to provide sustainable transport services commensurate with Abu Dhabi's position as a leading global destination in its various sectors and services.
