So far, Hyundai has not communicated much about the Bayon, which will be its entry-level compact SUV.
We just know that its name is inspired by the French city of Bayonne.
A tradition specific to the brand's SUVs, whose Tucson and Santa Fe were named after American cities of Arizona and New Mexico, and also the Kona, whose name is that of a district of the Big Island of Hawaii.
Even the NEXO fuel cell vehicle has a geographic connection, taking its name from Nexø - one of the largest cities on the Danish island of Bornholm.
