Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburger SV has to cope with the next failure in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga: Aaron Hunt tore a muscle fiber tear in his left calf in the home game against Karlsruher SC (1: 1) last Thursday and will not be available in the coming weeks.

The club announced on Monday.

The 34-year-old midfielder has been one of the best and most stable hamburgers in the past few weeks.

A few days earlier, central defender Stephan Ambrosius had suffered a cruciate ligament rupture.

He is out for several months.

For the remaining three point games under interim coach Horst Hrubesch, this is a further weakening for the Hanseatic League.
