The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in France continues to decrease: it is now preparing to drop back below the 8,000 mark and under that of 1,500 for the most seriously affected, according to Friday's figures.

According to the daily update from the French public health agency, the number of hospital patients on Friday stood at 8,107, against nearly 9,300 a week earlier and 11,000 at the beginning of September.

Among these patients, 1,586 are hospitalized in the intensive care units, reserved for the most serious cases, against 1,950 a week earlier and nearly 2,300 at the beginning of September.

In recent days, less than 6,000 new daily cases have been recorded on average, against 12,000 for the first week of September and more than 22,000 in early August.

In addition, since the start of the vaccination campaign, 50,302,734 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 74.6% of the total population) and 48,110,955 people have been fully vaccinated (i.e. 71.4% of the population). total).
