[Explanation] A few days ago, the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region reviewed and approved the proposed plan to reorganize the SAR government structure.

According to the plan, the structure of the SAR government will be changed to "three divisions and fifteen bureaus", and the Home Affairs Bureau will be reorganized into "Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau".

Many Hong Kong youths expressed support for the restructuring plan in an interview with China News Agency.

[Concurrent] Liao Tiancheng, a young educator in Hong Kong

There is room for improvement in our government's youth work in the past.

Therefore, this time, I very much support and agree with the reorganization of the Government, turning the Home Affairs Bureau into the "Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau".

[Concurrent] Chen Kairong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Association

  I personally support this decision.

I hope it can really be like its name, so that this new bureau can care about the needs of the youth and solve our problems for us.

[Concurrent] Chairman of Hong Kong Zhanjiang Youth Federation, Barrister Wu Yingpeng

I think that after the government reorganizes the Home Affairs Bureau into the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau, it can highlight that youth will be a priority of the government in the future, which will help coordinate youth work and formulate and implement long-term youth development plans.

[Concurrent] Kwai Tsing District Councilor Guo Furong, Hong Kong

This is the first time that the Hong Kong government has put youth policy into the government structure. It can be seen that the entire Hong Kong society pays great attention to and attaches great importance to the issue of youth.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong "post-95" young singer Ding Zhengkai

I think the youth issues in Hong Kong cover many areas, such as youth's spiritual civilization, value building, youth home ownership, social development, upward mobility, entrepreneurship development, etc. There must be a corresponding dedicated government for this series of issues The department is responsible for solving it.

[Commentary] Many young people in Hong Kong said that the "three industries" issues, including study, employment, and home ownership, are the issues that young people are most concerned about. It is hoped that the restructured "Civil Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau" can listen to the voices of young people and make concrete efforts for them. Young people solve practical problems and create more opportunities and space for the development of young people.

[Concurrent] Kwai Tsing District Councilor Guo Furong, Hong Kong

The first, of course, is to create more space for upstairs and development opportunities for the youth in Hong Kong, especially the "three industries" and "three politics", that is, youth's studies, employment, and home ownership, and youth's participation in politics, discussion of politics, and political discussions. At the same time, I hope to encourage young people to participate in more social and public affairs, so that they can contribute their talents and have a greater sense of belonging to Hong Kong and the country.

[Concurrent] Chen Kairong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Association

Academically, we want to have equitable and quality educational opportunities.

In terms of employment, I very much hope that we can have a diversified and promising employment environment. In terms of home ownership, we are most concerned about it. We really hope that Hong Kong can really provide more housing supply and innovative plans to help us buy homes. .

[Concurrent] Liao Tiancheng, a young educator in Hong Kong

This reorganization is an opportunity. It is hoped that the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau can allocate more resources and establish more targeted relationships with different regions and regional organizations. Through these regional organizations, more youth can be contacted and young people can be brought into society, and make young people the driving force for our future development in Hong Kong.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong "post-95" young singer Ding Zhengkai

I sincerely hope that a series of new institutions set up by the new Hong Kong SAR government can go hand in hand with the vast number of Hong Kong youths, and become friends and confidants of Hong Kong youth. Existing problems, such as problems in home ownership and in entrepreneurship, social upward mobility, and so on.

[Concurrent] Chairman of Hong Kong Zhanjiang Youth Federation, Barrister Wu Yingpeng

I hope that the future Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau can create more development opportunities for our youth, and guide the youth of Hong Kong to actively integrate into the overall situation of national development, so as to contribute youth power to national development and national rejuvenation.
