On June 10, the Hong Kong Customs announced that it detected a speedboat smuggling case and seized brand-name handbags, food materials and endangered animals and plants with a market value of 120 million Hong Kong dollars.

This is also the highest market value speedboat smuggling case ever detected by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department.

  Hong Kong Customs Assistant Commissioner (Intelligence and Investigation) Chen Zida said at a press conference that in March 2021, Hong Kong Customs and Mainland Customs launched a joint anti-smuggling operation codenamed "Xunlei".

Hong Kong Customs took enforcement actions from June 2 to 7, 2021, and detected a suspected smuggling case using speedboats in Lau Fau Shan, seizing more than 66,000 high-value goods, 2.3 tons of high-priced food materials, and 186 kilograms of controlled endangered animals and plants , 4 people were arrested in the operation.
