In Hokkaido, it was announced on August 1 that 267 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
Of these, 163 people, including one who was re-positive, were confirmed to be infected in Sapporo, 83 in Michi, 13 in Hakodate, 5 in Asahikawa, and 3 in Otaru.
This brings the total number of infected people in Hokkaido to 44,691, of which 1425 have died.
